Educational Incentive Program: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid (FA) Training

The New York State Office of Children and Family Services, Child Care Regulations now require all child day care programs have at least one caregiver, who holds a valid certificate in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid (FA) on the premise of the child care program during the program’s operating hours.
The Educational Incentive Program (EIP) has funding available for eligible child care providers of all modalities to obtain CPR/FA certification.
You may be eligible to receive a scholarship up to $125 for classroom training or up to $95 for online training with a skills demonstration component. Eligibility is based on your current household income as reported on your most recent IRS Form 1040.
You must be a U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or Resident Alien authorized to work in the U.S and currently caring for children as part of the adult/child ratio requirement in a child day care program licensed or registered by the NYS OCFS or the NYC DOHMH or direct supervisor of any child care staff mentioned above. Employment verification is required with each application. See page 18 of the 2016 EIP information and booklet for acceptable forms of employment verification. CPR/FA training must be conducted by an approved trainer participating with EIP. You can find a list of training organizations providing CPR/First Aid Training here.
The application submission period for 2016 begins on December 2, 2015. To apply for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and/or First Aid training, please complete an EIP online application and select “CPR/FA” where designated for course type.
